Before, During, After and checking
That bike Marlane found for Hendrix is done, considering it was free it's scrubbed up quite well. It was in quite a state when we got it, even the inside had lots of cobwebs and spider egg bundles but gave it a good clean once it was all in bits.
Had to scrub the spindles with sandpaper to get rid of the rust but then painted them with KuRust which turns rust back into metal by chemical magic. Also did the round clips that go on the ends of the rods as they were very rusty. I was surprised they went on firmly but they did so that saved some bodging.
I did the exhausts and front forks with the little bit of chrome spray paint that was left in an old can. Red for the body/fairings and black for the bars and top part of the yoke and wheels..
Doesn't look too bad.
Hendrix was a bit mystified by it at first but soon got down to checking it was roadworthy, as all bikers do before they set off on the road of course.
