Butterfl-eye
Sometimes my old camera comes good.
This is one of a pair of mating meadow browns but I blipped a similar congress not long ago and I don't want to give the impression I am obsessed with butterfly sex. It's just that it's one of the few times they stay still.
The stuff about their eyes is actually more fascinating. They have compound eyes containing 17000 separate light receptors giving them a mosaic view of what's around them. This is the reason they move so fast as soon as they spot a predator, or someone with a camera - which is much the same thing to a butterfly.
