Don't know him from Adam

This was Adam's house, or King John's palace - take your pick. Adam (apparently infamous but I don't know why - maybe it was his embezzlement and extortion habit which would explain why he needed crenellations or how he could afford them) went on a crusade and never came back. Must have liked the food and climate or something. Not sure where John came into it either - Adam was Henry's (III) mate and went crusading with his son Edward.
