A 1979 Cadillac Eldorado
By this means in 1980, we drove across the USA from Detroit to California. Essentially we were delivering the 'drive-away' car which became our home for a week. These are my friends Peter and Melanie in the pic. In my short story, ' Shine On,' I described the car thus:
“My cocaine white two door sedan had spoke wheels and whitewall tyres. It was so elongated that it was only slightly shorter than the Golden Gate Bridge. Her silver grilled snout could enter one town, while her tailpipe and trunk were legally within the city limits of the previous one. I loved my Caddy.”
