pumpkin patch

I have a hard time finding good soil for planting my veggies in our yard, so I end up planting in tiny corners that I have cleaned from grass and weeds. I thought that for the pumpkins it doesn't matter where their roots are, as long as their long arms can wander into neighboring vegetation. I was surprised to see them grow up so nicely, as I had the seeds taken from some trader joe pumpkins sold for last Halloween.
