Digging

The skip is full! We cleared all the remaining stones and a pile of soil. We also cut back a lot of dead wood from one of the trees. I also manage to freecycle quite a lot of bulky things that we no longer need and a scrap collector came and took the broken tumble dryer. A very satisfying day!

I rearranged the hamster home and added a sand bath in an old ceramic dish and lots more bedding material for her to burrow in. We put the cage on the floor and took the lid off before bedtime and the girls were so delighted to be able to stroke her. They were a bit over excited and had to be reminded quite a few times not to grab her, but she is getting surprisingly confident in just these few days and so I expect she will be easy to handle in a few weeks time if we keep interacting with her every day. She is a dear little creature and I must admit I have very much enjoyed setting up her home and learning about hamster care. Its a long way from the old set ups my hamsters had when I was little.

Edit: I just realised looking back on my last 3 days photos that Bea is wearing her new swimming suit in all three! She does love it and keeps putting it on top of her clothes. Funny thing!
