Learning to Eat

Happy Saturday! • I watched this little cutie staying close to his parent in the lilac tree. The adult fed him for quite a few minutes but then left. I assume it was on purpose to force this fledgling to forage and feed himself. And he did! As long as I minimized movement he seemed comfortable having me nearby. He removed 2-3 seeds from the feeder and ate them on a nearby branch. He had all the right chickadee moves! • The veggie garden is doing great. Everything is growing like crazy. As long as we water during this dry spell and don’t have any restrictions on water usage, we should have a great season! • I also harvested radishes for the second time. Yum!
