What butterfly botherers stalk in winter
What a great morning. Rob and John took me with them on their Brown Hairstreak egg search today and I managed to find some in the wild (I've only ever seen one that was 'captive' before). Here is a pair of eggs on a blackthorn twig, like tiny porcelain sculptures. It was great, walking in woods, staring at twigs, as you do. Birds were singing and it was just lovely.
Back to Rob's for lunch and I even came home with some freshly laid hens eggs, a further egg success!
