Sunrise
Was up 5am to beat the sun. Much less humid than yesterday. Hoed onions and carrots. Watered. Shifted wood. Cut grass on top terrace and in field. Hung a fly curtain. Short siesta. The Star of Kerry. An 83 year old who’d come to take a walk. Insisted on shaking hands at the end of our chat. Habits die hard.
We’d thought to go to the sea this weekend. So did everyone else. Everything booked tight. It ain’t over yet. We’re staying put. Why risk it after so much patience.
