Hill Top Rambling and Angle Tarn Ranting
Actually I went to visit Blipper Janepetleyjones to buy some honey and admire her garden. She calls her journal Hill Top Ramblings and I could see why as we rambled round her large garden admiring the deep flower beds, the meadow , the trees and took in the view from the hill top. Too big a project for me but she's been there nearly 30 years and converted a 2 acre field into a garden paradise. The honey is delicious. I suffer from hay fever which is an excuse to eat a spoonful every day.
Ridiculously hot day. We took delivery of two waterbutts and fixed them up to collect the rain forecast for tomorrow..
More TV coverage of very crowded beaches. Cumbria Police publish many photographs of much litter left by lakes and on the fells. At Angle Tarn, high above Ullswater, a wheelie suitcase full of stuff and a tent were left behind. Locals say they've never seen anything like it. To drag a wheelie suitcase up to Angle Tarn.... words fail me. It's about a 4km trek with 400m of climb up from the nearest village. I'm amazed they managed it
Day 97
No more daily briefings which is relief because they were depressing and repetitive. The stats can easily be checked on the coronvirus.data.gov.uk site :- 149 deaths yesterday, South Lakeland still 4th worst on the cases per head chart behind Lancaster, Ashford and still worst of all Barrow. Cumbria 9th worst regional health authority.
