Wow.. what an end to what a day

It reached 32C in the shade here today.. never have l been so glad that we live in a thick walled old stone cottage!!  When it got too hot to breath outside it was possible to come in and cool down.  The minute the cool room started feeling too hot it was time to venture outside again!! (to get the benefit of cooling down inside again!!
We ate a salad entirely from our veg patch tonight.. the first picking of our mangetout and sugar snaps as well as a lovely lettuce with extra salad leaves and of course our white radish.  It was absolutely delicious and so thrilling to have the peas.. they were wonderful raw straight frm the garden.  extras..
