On My Doorstep

I went down to the lake this evening and enjoyed my normal walk as well as a sit-down in my favourite spot to watch the sunset.

When I got back to my car I didn’t feel ready to go home so I decided to go explore another area on the other side of the road. I’ve vaguely known that there are footpaths there but I’ve never gone to check them out even though I’ve lived here for 13 years. In the winter the area is often flooded so maybe that’s why I’ve dismissed it.

Oh my! What a lovely area! Meadows, trees, the River Loddon, a bridge, more meadows. There was even a large deer who came to say hello and welcome! She was camera-shy, though, so didn’t get to be my blip today. I will definitely go walking there again.
