Under construction!
First morning volunteering for National Trust Scotland freezing cold at Ardess Lodge, Loch Lomond. The lodge is sited just at the foot of Ben Lomond. We are building a traditional dwelling from around 1600 using oak pegs to join oak beams harvested from the surrounding forest. The finished building will have turf walls and a thatched roof of locally harvested bracken. This will form part of the history trail which runs past the lodge.
