Union Street ...
... as never before.
I came to Aberdeen 1968 to study for an Arts degree at the University - and never left. To all intents and purposes I think of Aberdeen as my home town and have done so for decades.
I had to go into the city centre today. It was my first trip in for three months or more. I was astonished by what I found. It was a ghost town. I counted a couple of dozen (at most) pedestrians on Union Street. In the Sixties you could barely move on the pavements for the throngs of shoppers.
What ever will become of us? I am sure there will be a recovery, but goodness knows how or when.
