Feeling hot!

Friendly, caring people here. A short walk because it was hot and very humid (35C / 80%). Some job applications and Pilates by Zoom. I’ve also been invited to a farewell celebration at work tomorrow.
My flat mate invited a couple of her friends over to play cards which was fun. Two Lebanese guys who are stuck here but wanting to get home, one of whom has a wife and children. So many tales like this, and even more worrying given the situation there.
Towards the end of the night M, one of the two Egyptians from our little group messaged to say he’s engaged. Not in the sense that we know it. It’s more like permission to date so there’s no shame; to make it respectable in the eyes of the community. He told his mother he was ready to marry so his cousin’s wife introduced him to her friend. They’ve only met twice on their own; he’s not sure of his feelings yet. I hope it works for him.
