Mr Chuckles

We had carpenters in this morning to replace this tired old fence in our backyard, and Mr Chuckles was none too happy. He is one of a pair of kookaburras that drop in daily from their surrounding bushland home for an easy forage on our neighbour's birdtable. Insects, lizards and other small creatures on our side of the fence had better watch out too.

I love kookaburras. Their manic laughter can be heard from first light and throughout the day. I can hear one now, as I write this.

The new fence is up. Mr and Mrs Chuckles will return to our yard tomorrow.
