Stanley Kubrick at LACMA

This huge wall of posters at the exhibition brought back memories of the big old playroom in the basement at my Granny and Grandpa's house.

Grandpa would take my mum and aunties to the wonderful Royalty cinema in Bowness-on-Windermere when they were growing up and it became somewhat of a tradition to snag a poster to adorn the playroom walls as a memento.

There may well have been a Kubrick film among them but Dr. No and Geronimo were certainly in there, along with many other classics from the 50s and 60s.

My brother, sister, cousins and me were fascinated by these fabulous images as we were growing up and although they had only been slapped on with wallpaper paste they still sat strong all those years later for us to enjoy too. I'm sure our love of film was sparked down in that magical playroom.
