Having a whale of a time!

WOW!

We booked onto a morning dolphin swin trip at the Bay of Islands. We saw lots of dolphins early on and were perfectly happy with that. THEN the captain announced there had been some Humpback whales spotted at the Hole in the Rock and would we mind going to see them instead of swimming? Of course not and this was a good decision. This picture is of a baby humpback whale who happily played right in front of us for around 30 minutes.

It was incredible!

To say it was awe inspiring would be an understatement, my husband and I were both emotional and agreed it was the most amazing natural sight we had ever seen. The Mummy didn't say hello so I cannot even imagine the sight if she had breached too, maybe another time!
