Who Dunnit?
An even BIGGER MYSTERY
A busy day today - Tom's stable to blitz from when he was stabled overnight during the snowy 2 weeks. Trying to wheel several barrows full of heavy, wet straw and dung through the thick mud between the stable and dung heap is hard work! It seemed to take forever. Not helped by the fact that carrying an armful of logs when topping up my indoor stock last night has played havoc with my left elbow - it feels like the start of tennis elbow, which I had some years ago and isn't at all funny, very painful - I'm hoping the anti-inflammatory pain killers I've taken today will knock it on the head quickly :(
Before a certain footie match on TV I had time for a quick blip hunt, and started checking out the moss growing on my old railway carriage. Then I noticed this rather strange formation - I'm sure there's a body under this lot - whoever it is, they must be incredibly well preserved to have lasted long enough for all that moss to grow! And it wasn't my doing guv'nor, honest!
On a small dead tree which has succumbed to the horrendous winds we've had this last week, and had fallen onto my dung heap, I found some nice Lichen. This clump and also this one.
By my field pond I spotted a large area of empty snail shells - a snail graveyard perhaps?
