The Whitethroat Rap

As there's probably not much time left before people can holiday in the UK, I thought I'd best make the most of the opportunity to visit the beach before tourists arrive. It was a perfect temperature as there was a slight breeze and not too many people around. At the end of the walk I went to the coast path to see if there were any interesting birds around and saw this Whitethroat singing away.

I'm impressed that the day after the Budgens fire there was an emergency number published for the vulnerable to ring for a grocery delivery.

UK deaths up 15 to 42,647 (lower no's Sun / Mon) and new cases fell below 1,000 yesterday. Cases globally have now exceeded 9M and the WHO reported a record 24 hour rise of 183,020 cases. A CV outbreak in Anglesey at a chicken plant is one of several outbreaks globally at meat processing plants - experts have no explanation for this. An inhaled versions of remdesivir is being trialed. The BoE said it had to intervene early in the outbreak as the Government came close to being unable to sell its debt. 

Changes announced for the 2.2M shielding in England. From 6/7 those currently shielding can meet up to 6 others outdoors and if single can enter into a support bubble. From 1/8 shielding is paused and they can return to work if Covid secure. Obviously outside these changes they should stay at home as much as possible, restrict the number of social interactions and regularly wash hands etc. Food packages will continue to the end of July and most supermarkets will continue their priority status for as long as required. Each person affected will receive a letter about the changes. Few children are likely to have to shield if it needs to be re-introduced in future.
