Fourth time lucky...
...here comes summer...
We've cancelled this walk with Helen and Mike 3 times because of rain - but today was the day! An 8 and a half mile round of Shatton Edge near Bampton in the Peak District. A lovely walk along the river to start, then a pull up on to the moor - see extras. Curlews, stonechats and kestrels as we went, and a lovely breeze to keep us cool on the climb. When we saw the benches, a demo of social distancing with poles seemed called for ;)
The only thing that would have improved the day - a pint of lager shandy at the pub in the village, but hey, let's not be greedy ;)
And two classics to finish with - from Dolly
Percy Whitlock 'Scherzetto' (Organ Sonata in C Minor)
And another from me from The Three Tenors - Nessun Dorma
