Chieftain MBT

Lockdown day 91.

Today is the start of a promised warm spell (some danger of it being too warm).

I drove over to Great Bradley to see something that you normally wouldn't expect to find in a quiet corner of a Suffolk farm. This Chieftain left the army in 1978, pretty much the same time as I did but I think I've weathered the years slightly better than this poor old lady.

This is a very different sight to how I remember seeing them, a whole regiments worth lined up on the tank park beautifully maintained and gleaming.

I've added it to the map, zoom in satellite view and its clearly visible.

It's the owners ambition to restore this iconic MBT to running order. Good luck with that!
