Hands on

Today was a right disaster.
I took the day off work to work on the wedding cake for a full day without distractions & to bake the sponge cakes.
Everything I did turned out wrong. I think my mind was racing & I quite clearly wasn't concentrating. I forgot flour, added too much syrup & didn't grease tins throughout enough.
When I picked Alexander up from work I was in slight despair. The plan was to set to finishing the decorating on the 2 iced fruit cakes I'd started last night.
I successfully baked whilst Alexander carried on decorating what I'd started.
We finished the 2 cakes & I cut & prepared the 2 sponge cakes ready for tomorrow's action.
It was intense but quite an enjoyable evening. Getting the hang of it took a while but I am starting to understand why people enjoy doing it.
