Slovenia and Croatia
Up early and on the road by 7am! Our route today took us up into the mountains, and down into Slovenia via a route through their National Park.
Prisank mountain, 2547m dominates the skyline, and we stopped to take some photos of the incredible view. The photo above is a close up of an interesting natural feature known as th 'Pagan Girl' - if you look at the rock formation, you can see what appears to be the face of a woman in the rock - pretty cool!
Today we travelled along seemingly endless, winding mountain passes, through beautiful mountain scenery. Quite spectacular, but totally terrifying to navigate in a Bongo! Glad N was driving. My hero! :)
We crossed into Croatia some time in the late afternoon, and headed along the coast road. Again, spectacular scenery. Most of the campsites we saw were rammed to the gills and looked a bit too full of night life for our tastes, so we headed up towards the mountains to see if we could find a spot to wild camp.Happened to find a perfect campsite for 20euros a night incl. hook up.
We slept up in the roof, and I woke up in the night and saw the most amazing view of the milky way from our skylight - so lovely. No light pollution where we are here, so the night sky is beautiful.
