Sorted! (With apologies to W. Heath Robinson)

The seams were quite straightforward to fix but, finding it impossible to invisibly repair the horrible gash in my gilet malfunction I had to admit that it would need to be patched.

Understandably, nowhere in town could offer a fabric to match but, during the search, I faced the inevitable - I had to go for complete contrast.

It might not hit the catwalk but now tartan ribbon does the job of covering up a mess of fabric glue and stitching.
