Early birds

Managed to get the boys up early to go for a hill walk up local hill, West Lomond Hill.

Thought if we didn't get up early enough we would struggle to get a car park space and also the place would get busy!

I was right.

We got there for about 8.10, plenty of space for the car and headed off up the hill.

No-one else to be seen.

One other couple at the top but that was all.

Perfect!

Decided to do the full loop and come down the other side of the hill.
Again we saw no one all the way down, but then we got down to the track that goes up the middle of the valley and also takes in a popular spot (John Knox Pulpit) and this was when it turned into a busy High Street!

We passed soooo many people heading up the track (mostly heading to John Knox Pulpit rather than up the hill) and when we got down to the road at about 11am it was mayhem!

Cars parked everywhere!

We had to walk a fair bit back along the road to where our car was parked and there was car after car up and down the road.

Was glad to be leaving the area by that time.

Fantastic walk and the boys really enjoyed it.

Had friends round at night to celebrate a birthday... and now it's the next morning (Sunday) and I have a slight hangover!
