steps back in time
wow, just realised this is my 400th blip! i thought i was near it, and maybe should've done something special to recognise it. instead you have a picture of an old mill in Kimberley (maybe it's 400 years old!).
not a mega nights sleep, which to be honest isn't unusual as Monday draws near. still managed to sleep in til 8am. the boy was chomping at the bit for his breakfast!
sausage sarnie and decided then to go for a walk - weather dull and looked unsettled, so decided to get out early doors. milky coffee in flask, and a flask of water for Pete, we set off on our walk, towards, over the fields, over the brook, retracing the walks we used to do with mum, dad and co when we lived at Kimberley.
Reached the mill. there are actually 2 mills here. this one is the better ruins. am struggling to find out anything much about it on the internet, other than it was classed as a post-mill, and the top half of it was made of wood.
walked back home, and got collared on the way by a resident of the road near the mill. a fellow beagle owner, he was keen to say hello and meet Pete, and exchange Beagle stories! he says i'm just about to hit tough times!! :(((
home by 1pm, a good 4 mile (at least!) walk. Pete fed, i then set about the ironing, and other cleaning chores.
dinner tonight was lovely, brisket in red wine. nice way to end a week off.
back to the grind tomorrow. it's what pays for weeks like i've just had, so it's worth the graft!
