Mining Bees

Came across this colony on the side of a sandy path in the heather heath. There were lots of holes with bees going in and out and several skirmishes like this one. Where I assume the males were fighting for the right to mate with a female. I some cases the males were dragging the females out of the borrows. difficult to photograph as they were moving very fast.
