Lucky day

What a week! Work was ridiculously busy and I’ve been very limited in my time away from my desk. I managed one or two walks at most and focussed on clearing my head rather than taking photos. Anyway today I only had to do a little work. We walked into the village to pick up some meat for the BBQ. After lunch we tuned in for the racing at Royal Ascot. We go once in a while as we are close to Windsor and Ascot racetracks. We only ever place very small bets for a bit of fun. I wasn’t feeling at all lucky but my husband convinced me to pick a horse in the Coventry Stakes. I picked Nando Parrado. I figured I may as well pick the one with the longest odds (I did that once many years ago when we first met and won!) To our utter astonishment my £2 bet at 150:1 came good and now I’m £300 better off. How we laughed at the ridiculousness of it all! Maybe it was my lucky day after all.
