Wound up in Wexford

Foxglove

Our garden now has a nice scattering of foxgloves.  There's a couple of special ones in the bed at the bottom of the garden, the rest are self-seeded from ones planted a few years ago.

They are a variety of colours, mainly pink of course, but also a few white ones, and this, which is a rather pretty cream colour, with pink stipples in the bells.

A better, more motivated day today.  I got a bit of weeding done, and planted a couple of things in what we call the grass bed, but which also has foxgloves (of course), teasel and other tall, "willowy" flowering plants to complement the grasses.

W mowed the grass (I refrain from calling it a lawn).  He treated himself to a battery powered mower earlier in the summer, but unfortunately, it only did a couple of mows, and then gave up the ghost - it has gone back to the manufacturers, for them to see if they can sort it, or give us our money back.
