Morning sun on the mulberry tree
For a brief period, there was sunshine and a cloudless blue sky this morning. So a wander round the garden was irresistible. I'm often drawn to attempting images of dappled sunlight, or shadowy patterns. Often they don't work: either I don't quite get the exposure right, or the light is too harsh in places. Here, I like the way that the structure of the leaves is picked out, as well as the intensity of the light on the mulberries. They're just beginning to change colour, on their way to being a deep reddish black when they're ready to eat. We don't have a particularly large garden, so this one is espalier-trained against a sunny wall. It's an experiment, and so far the tree is fruiting well.
