Bawming Day

Bawming Day in Appleton Thorn takes place on the third Saturday in June each year and is usually quite a celebration. This year it took place virtually.

In this photo you can see the thorn tree decorated with ribbons. The thorn itself came from a cutting of the Glastonbury thorn which is said to come from the staff of Joseph of Aramathea.
