Frescoes revisited
We'd been to an old Byzantine chapel where gorgeous frescoes cover its walls and I took some pix without flash; the opened door helped lots bringing some light indoors!
This icon of the Archangel Michalis was painted in 1318 by Michael Venieri, an icon painter from Venetian times here on Crete, whose name is known.
In the extra an icon depicting the baptism of Christ, also from this little treasure church on Crete, what has been discovered and described by the Italian researcher Giuseppe Gerola in the early years of 1900.
