They Eye Of The Needle ...

In the Gospels according to Matthew, Luke and Mark the eye of the needle is mentioned in one of the many equations. Jesus said to his disciples:
"And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

We use 'the eye of a needle' in a situation where it was close and it had gone wrong: someone crept through the eye of the needle.
