Fondu, But No Cheese In Sight...

Today I went to eat with Yolande in a village near Le Puy. We're been trying to arrange this for a while so it was nice to finally get to visit her. Her husband runs a bakery and it was very exciting to go and see where he makes his bread - aparently I can go back and help him one day, exciting! For lunch we ate fondu, but it wasn't cheese fondu. You get pieces of turkey and chicken, bread crumb them and then hold them in oil to cook them, but this all happens at the table. They're like an edible version of chicken nuggests. I also got to try pastis and 'Charlotte' - a trifle like dessert. After lunch we attempted a short walk to burn off the calories! I really like Yolande and find her easy to talk to so that was great and good for my French. The afternoon was spent with her daughter teaching me about French music. I left with CDs and BDs (comics), all in an attempt to make me more French! Now I'm stuck between the decision of pub to play darts or an evening in, decisions, decisions!
