Slowly gearing up for normality ... ?
We went for a wonderful walk in Ripley this evening after we’d finished working. This was one of our favourite walks and one which we haven’t done for sometime, long before lockdown. These are the gears to the weir gates at Papercourt lock which made for an interesting picture; they are still in use despite their rusty appearance.
As you can see from the extra we also saw a heron and some beautiful flora along the Wey; lots of people out walking and even paddle boarding.
Finished reading Margaret Attwood’s Maddadam today, the third in a trilogy which tells a grisly, dystopian tale of a future when greed and interference with nature causes a disastrous pandemic ... ring any bells? Really enjoyed it. Now need to think about what to read next ...
