The face off

Day 2 in Costa Rica found us at Savegre Lodge at almost 8000 feet. It did take a few days to get used to walking uphills there. But... OH the hummingbirds!! They were amazing! These were 2 fiery throated hummers having a small tiff over who gets the hummer feeder first. The gardens at the lodge were an absolute delight  because there were hummers everywhere. And flowers everywhere. And hens and chicks that were closer to the size of chickens. And bromeliads everywhere on every tree.
