Peppermint Pinwheels

That's what these mountain laurel (Kalmia) on the woodland path remind me of.  Mr. Mole has been watering every night because we haven't had rain and it is dry, dry, dry.  It's now thundering and lightning in a dramatic multi-colored sunset sky, but still, no rain. 

I got a few things accomplished today, but just couldn't plow through as much of the list as I had hoped.  My dear friend The Fox stopped by and we chatted for about an hour...she on the deck and me on the porch. What a treat that was.  Sunshine, blue sky with clouds, flowers blooming, and a light breeze.  She said she felt happy.  I know I was too.
