Busy day and home-made cheeZe tasting
Had my regular Zoom class at 12, “Plant Based Recipes” with Bettina Campolucci
Bordi. Her 2 books are in the top spots following appearance on James Martin‘s Saturday Kitchen. She’s doing something pretty unique and deserves success.
Today’s meet was on a meat substitute suitable as a taco, vegetable etc filling. Wasn’t really concentrating as texting on iPhone at same time. Can always dig out the video on-line.
So early quick 45mn walk to the goats (not around today) and back. Zoom. Then lunch. Tried my 2 week matured vegan cheeze I had made 2. One I ate within a couple of days, good, but ‘cream cheezy’ as still young. Today’s had a better flavour and was delicious. The recipe was truffle infused, but as I had no truffle oil, I used chopped chives (you can add whatever you like) See EXTRAS Next time will leave to mature for a few weeks.
Then another Zoom meet reminiscing about 2 German/Austrian cafés in Finchley Road, Hampstead. Have childhood memories of the most amazing cream cakes.
The cruise ships have abandoned us. The Arcadia left this morning or last night - for Weymouth? The Aurora sailed off at around 7pm, to join her sister. Expect we’ll see them again. They seem to move between the Isle of Wight, here and Weymouth - depending on weather.
Had dinner. Now adding this between texts flying backwards and forwards. If I can get this on, will just about have time to see my third Cheltenham Film Festival booking ‘Selfie’ (23:20 update, film will have to wait).
Thanks to Ingeborg for today’s Abstract Thursday ‘Blurred’ theme. I snapped these gorgeous huge daisy like flowers today on the walk. Then took a deliberate iPad ICM photo of the iPhone photo, and put that through the Prisma app. Mad aren’t we.
Nite nite and sweet dreams x
