Not NY bird!
Not from NY at all. I am going to post a series of photos from January. Yes ,January. I am afraid I did not post them on the trip because if the spottiness of wifi. Then once back to work... well you know how it is. All the stuff you need to address when you get back. We spent a wonderful almost 2 weeks in Costa Rica with Naturalist Journeys and I would do this again in a heartbeat. James and Johann our guides were just exceptional and the group was great to travel with. In fact I was hoping to sign up for Panama next year when COVID hit.
Work has been overly busy again the last 3 days and I have not been able to pick up the camera since the weekend or even the computer. So , I thought a little pseudo travel would be fun and keep me from stressing over trying to get time around the yard work and work and stuff to pick up the camera and take a photo.I'm not good at night photography.
This is a Lesson's mot-mot. He was in the garden of our hotel just outside of the capital San Jose. The garden was full of birds and flowers . A wonderful place to start to get introduced to the birds of Costa Rica. There was a pair of woodpeckers hanging out on a tree limb, hummers zipping around and sparrows in the grass. But this was the first really showy bird .
