Day 86 – More street art

For the first time since Friday the sun actually shone this afternoon so we went out to Riccarton to get some photos for the Orienteering Club’s website. On the way back we came across some painted containers by the canal in Wester Hailes. They were done by Glasgow based street artist Rogue One and manage to get amazing light and texture from spray paints. The blip is of Red Squirrels and the extra an otter.

In other news the Scottish Parliament voted to ban the unlicensed culling of mountain hares and make them a protected species. A BBC report gives some background. No matter how much gamekeepers and estate owners say the Hares are safe with them we have seen noticeably fewer Mountain Hares in recent years with the largest numbers usually near the ski areas where they are presumably less ‘hassled’.
