Parish Pumps of St. Peter Port #5
Day 5 of my blipping pump-fest or is it a pumping blip-fest?
This pump is halfway up a hill called Mount Durand. From 1994 to 2001 we used to live in one of the houses just behind it, but only the pump's granite base was there during that time.
Also at the time someone told us that if you lived in Mount Durand you had to live "above the pump", so we managed to be socially acceptable by about 10 feet!
In 2008 a replica pump was installed to restore the site to its former glory and to make this blip worthwhile.
There are about 20 pumps around the Town and I have set myself the trainspotterish task of blipping them all in a row - you have been warned. Tune in tomorrow for the next St Peter Port pump!
Thanks to Village Pumps for doing it first and saving me getting an old parchment map out from the Priaulx library.
