Dragonfly

This dragonfly was in my garden flitting around the lavender bushes.
I went to the village street market quite early in the morning and then spent a couple of hours having a rather extended coffee with various people who stopped by - it's become a regular meeting place for the whole village.
I had a nice swim at the local beach and  then went to inspect a friend's huge apricot tree - she's stuck in the UK for the moment and asked me to pick as many as I want on condition that I stew and freeze a few for her to taste when she eventually makes it over here.
There were quite a lot  already rotting on the ground, mostly too late to save, but hundreds still on the tree in various stages of ripeness. I picked a few bags full and there are still hundreds left on the tree... waiting for the next session. Once they start to ripen there's not that much time to pick them before they go rotten,so I might have to enlist some picking helpers,  and probably start doling out apricots to everyone I know!
Meanwhile my own young apricot tree has 11 apricots on it - a few up from last year. They're not quite ripe yet - mustn't forget them!
