Wildflowers for Wednesday
Lovely stroll with JeannieJay around Limehouse today and we ended up in Bartlett Park at the recommendation of PaulShelley.
Spent an hour exploring the gorgeous wildflower meadow planting in mounds around the park and ended up chasing bees from blue cornflowers to poppies (see extras).
The park named in honour of Prebendary Philip M. Bartlett, who died in 1958 and had been vicar of St Saviour's Church in the centre of park for 39 years. St. Saviour's was almost destroyed by fire on 25 May 2007, but the shell remains since it is a Grade II listed building. The park itself is currently undergoing an extensive £3.3M refurbishment and remodel by Levitt Bernstein.
