Garden visit

Most enjoyable socially distanced visit to the garden of Blipper JanePetleyJones. Exquisite roses, fine perennial border plus lots of wild areas.
Main shot is Melancholy Thistle (Cirsium heterophyum) . Single flower heads, initially drooping. (hence its name) on spineless stems with leaves densely white felted underneath. Looks anything but melancholy and raised my spirits.

Couldn’t leave without seeing some of the contents of Rob’s moth trap. Many beauties but the most photogenic was this well known Poplar Hawkmoth shown in extras.

Oh and I must not forget to mention the best ever coffee cake.
