We All Have To Start Somewhere

A couple of years ago a logging company was hired by the land conservancy that owns this property to thin out the old growth.  They were the least expensive bid and they did a horrible job.  They really left it a mess on the outskirts though I hear the trails aren't too bad.  Some new growth is making it look a tiny bit better and at this time of year, Myles and I can just walk out the door and be in the forest.  It's starting to come back just a little and the sunrise can be really pretty because so many trees have been cleared.  I liked the old stump of a very large maple tree with the new growth coming in around it.  These are tiny little maple trees in the making.  

There is some progress being made on the racism that seems so prevalent right now with support both nationally and internationally. Some laws are being tweaked and hopefully it has brought a lot to the forefront and gives pause to those that are not directly affected.
