Brindister Loch Holm

Another day in paradise.  20 odd degrees, calm and sunny all day and night.  Mist came down over the east coast, and threatening Scalloway late tonight.

Another morning working at my desk at home, and took the afternoon off.  Working again tonight.  Nipped into Lerwick with photo orders this morning.  I've been painting the boat name this afternoon, and then a barbecue.  Met mam and friend Julie for a walk this evening.

After finishing some of the painting, I headed out for a walk.  Right in the middle of this Loch, lies a small isle, with an old building on it.  I was always told as a bairn, it was used for a leprosy house, but I don't know if that true.  It certainly looks old, probably an Iron Age dun.  A dun is similar to a broch, but a single skin wall and much smaller.  You can clearly see an entrance, and granddad Maikie said there is a causeway to the isle.  Taken at the Holm of Brindister Loch, Gulberwick.
