LOCK DOWN DAY 85
Guess what we did today?............................. We went on a bus for the first time in more than 12 weeks. You've no idea how excited Ann was to go on a bus. #itsthelittlethings After spending three months doing mammoth walks because we've not had anything else to do we're actually running out of new and exciting places to walk. Also 12 weeks in lock down is long enough and at some point people are going to have to take responsibility for their own actions and try to get back to normal whatever normal may be!
Ann was a bit worried that I'd be a hyper silly little collie pup on the bus, but do you know what?........................ my behaviour was impeccable. I just lay down until Ann told me it was time to get off. Ann put her 'mask' on for the first time. (See extras) She has total admiration for all the NHS/key-workers who have to wear these all the time. What a horrible experience. Within seconds her glasses had steamed up and she couldn't see a thing. And also when she took it off, it was covered in lipstick really wet. That was quite interesting because I guess if she hadn't had it on, all those 'droplets of breath' would have been circulating around the bus. Having said that, it's not mandatory to wear a mask on public transport in Scotland and half of the people on the bus weren't wearing one!
Anyway because the buses aren't doing their normal routes we had to walk all the way across the Meadows to catch an number 41 (that is only running once an hour) to Cramond.
Walked along the Firth of Forth from the River Almond to the Waters of Leith which was just over 6 miles. And then just as we reached the Waters of Leith our bus app told us a No.16 bus was 2 mins away so we jumped on that and came home.
We've had a lovely day out but Ann really wishes that Mr Sunshine would come back out to play!!!
PS - Photo in extras seems to be upsidedown. Haven't a clue why????
