Chimney & Church House
Haven't posted for a few days due to number of things. My brother had been furloughed but is now in "consultation" over his job. That term is such a misnomer - I've been in "consultation" a few times over the years myself and I know that the last people to be properly consulted are the workforce.
In essence what a lot of employers do is throw a tonne of information at you, ask you to choose a representative and give you a deadline where you have no hope of making much sense of it all. I'm convinced this is often done deliberately. It's also funny how you are referred to as a member of staff, a worker or an employee normally but when you are under consultation you suddenly become a "colleague". I usually laugh out loud at this point. My brother is feeling the full force of this at the moment.
This week I also got another knock back on a photography competition I entered. This alway leaves me feeling a bit crap and so I often don't feel like shooting anything for a few days. It does bruise your confidence a bit.
To top it off on Saturday I badly hurt my back. All I did was bend down to put some washing in the washing machine but the pain was searing. At one point I was on all fours and I think I actually yelped, very loudly! So, at the moment, I'm on painkillers and struggling to stand or sit for any period of time. I've found walking really difficult but if I keep moving it does ease up a bit after a few minutes.
