After 24 consecutive days with no new COVID-19 cases, today we had 2 new cases. 2 people who arrived from UK to visit a dying parent and didn’t complete the 14 day isolation criteria on compassionate grounds. I’m pleased the 2 people (in their 30s and 40s) saw their parent before they died- but it highlights how strict we have to be to manage our borders. People complain about our ongoing restrictions, but, in my opinion, we have to be very strict. It’s a deadly disease.
